REM Technologies: Our dream is that you will sleep... And sleep well! My name is Heather Crompton, and I have a little boy who has ADD, and has suffered with a related sleep disorder. And as every mother knows, if your child isn't sleeping, neither are you! At a point of absolute desperation, I discovered the NightWave sleep assistant! The first night he had his "dream machine" I tucked him into bed, kissed him goodnight and switched his NightWave on to the second setting - the 7 minute sleep setting. I breathed a few deep breaths with him in time with the NightWave and left his bedroom, closing the door behind me. (Because of the lovely blue light he wasn't at all afraid of the dark, usually he slept with his door open and the passage light on!) I went through to our family room and looked at my husband on the couch and said, "Well, lets see if NightWave works!" A few minutes later my husband went to check on him, he was tucked up just as I had left him, but with one major difference... ...he was sound asleep! We estimated that he had fallen asleep within 4 or 5 minutes of me leaving the room, even before the NightWave switched itself off! The very first night he used it! The next morning my son hopped out of bed early and I woke to the sounds of him playing in his room! Imagine my surprise! He had fallen asleep quickly, had slept right through the night and was up early... bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and full of mischief I might add! Usually he would toss and turn for hours - up to 4 or 5 hours some nights - and eventually fall asleep. He also battled with night terrors. In the morning I would have to wake him up and drag him out of bed, help him eat breakfast and get dressed for school, because he was too tired to do it himself! NightWave has changed our lives! Every night since then he has had the same results with his NightWave and has now developed a healthy normal sleep routine! Not one night since has he battled to fall sleep! Its become part of his bedtime routine and he puts himself to bed and switches it on himself. He no longer dreads going to bed! And I no longer worry about him not getting enough sleep, or him being tired and run down all the time! I was so excited about NightWave and I immediately knew that this was a product that thousands of South Africans needed! And so here it is... brought to South Africa by a sleep deprived Mom, who wanted to spread a little sleep, and have some herself! The good news is that NightWave sleep assistant works for adults, teens and children! Further information about sleep... or more correctly, the lack thereof! There are 4 stages of sleep, REM (Rapid Eye Movement) being the 4th stage in the sleep cycle, which repeats throughout the night... IF we are asleep that is! And there are far too many of us who are not asleep! The effects of ongoing sleep deprivation are devastating on our bodies and our psyche. I don't need to give you the technical data to prove it. If you're sleep deprived, you know exactly what I mean! ...But here's a diagram anyway to show you how serious sleep deprivation can be! (And this is just the beginning... there are so many other illnesses and diseases linked to sleep deprivation!) In order to have a good nights sleep, and to be able to function properly and optimally, we all need to go through all 3 important sleep phases, and into the 4th and final phase... the vivid dream phase: REM! Here's a quick technical breakdown of the four sleep stages... in case you're interested:
Stage 4: - Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep is the stage of sleep characterized by the rapid movement of the eyes. REM sleep is classified into two categories: tonic and phasic. Criteria for REM sleep includes not only rapid eye movement, but also low muscle tone and a rapid, low voltage EEG. REM sleep in adult humans typically occupies 20–25% of total sleep, about 90–120 minutes of a night's sleep. During a normal night of sleep, humans usually experience about four or five periods of REM sleep; they are quite short at the beginning of the night and longer toward the end. A newborn baby spends more than 80% of total sleep time in REM. During REM, the activity of the brain's neurons is quite similar to that during waking hours, but the body is paralyzed due to atonia; for this reason, the REM-sleep stage may be called paradoxical sleep. REM sleep is Well... if all that technical data didn't put you to sleep... the NightWave sleep assistant should do the trick! So here's to getting some sleep! We trust the NightWave, a nifty little invention that is changing lives around the world, will help you too! We'd love to hear from you! Click here to send us a message!
